Dr Chen Shi

Dr Chen Shi holds a PhD in education management and arts from Jinan University, China; a master’s degree in education from Huazhong Normal University and a bachelor’s degree in education from Beijing Normal University. She has more than 20 years of teacher training experience and has served as a standing secretary of Zhuhai Family Education Association and secretary of GuangDong Preschool Education Professional Association. She is also a member of the China Preschool Education Research Association and an executive committee member of the Singapore Association for Early Childhood Educators (AECES).

Dr Chen Shi has done several research studies in the areas of education, psychology, education management, literature, and history. She also participated in, organized and hosted many country-level research projects in China and Singapore. An expert in early childhood education, Dr Chen Shi has contributed several influential articles in several publications in China.

Mr Ling Jian

Mr Ling Jian holds a Master of Education Administration degree from National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is currently studying for a PhD in Special Needs Education at National University of Tainan, Taiwan.

He is a senior curriculum developer, training instructor and assessor for the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment, certified by then Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), now known as Skillsfuture Singapore (SSG).

He also lectures for the Specialist Diploma in Chinese Language Teaching (Mandarin) and the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) examination preparation course. He is also an examiner for the Putonghua (PSC) certification programme.

Mr Ling has more than three years of experience working with kindergartens in the Special Needs area. He is engaged in doing research on emotional and behavioral disorders, autism, learning disabilities in children. and has contributed academic papers on education psychology and Special Needs. Working together with Special Needs experts from Taiwan and the United States, he is also actively exploring inclusive theory and practice of education.

Prior to his career in Singapore, Mr. Ling had spent more than 10 years in teaching and in education administration management at various China universities. He was also involved in developing course curriculum and teaching materials During his tenure, he headed several departments such as Psychology & Counselling, Career Guidance and Teaching & Research.

Ms Hou Jing

Ms Hou Jing, holding master degrees of both Early Childhood Education and Computer Science, has rich experiences working with young children, parents and Teachers. Her academic background and experiences as below:

  • Master of Education – National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore, Majoring in Early Childhood (English).
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education – Teaching (Mandarin), Learning Capital School of Higher Education (Chinese).
  • Master of Computing – National University of Singapore (NUS). Majoring in Computer Science & Information System (English).
  • Bachelor of Science – University of Science and Technology Beijing, China (USTB).

Ms Yu Qinqin

Ms Yu Qinqin holds a master’s degree in Pedagogy from Zhejiang Normal University of China and a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from China University of Petroleum.

She has more than 10 years of teacher training experience. She specialties in preschool education, Kindergarten Curriculum and Social Education for Preschool Children.

Ms Zhang Li

Ms Zhang Li has many years of experience in teaching research, teacher training and administrative management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-school Chinese education from Singapore University of Social Sciences and a master’s degree in pre-school education from Beijing Normal University. Before and after graduation, she worked in preschool education in China and Singapore, and worked in nursery institutions for 28 years.

Zhang Li continues to improve her professional quality and academic knowledge in the field of preschool education. She has practical work experience and ability. She is currently  as a senior lecturer in KLC International Institute, Singapore. Committed to contributing to the cultivation of future preschool educators in Singapore, she strive to guide preschool educators to consciously create a more suitable learning environment for preschool children and create localized and diversified courses. Make good use of modern educational theory and technology, focusing on cultivating core values ​​of preschool children, promoting their social and emotional skills, as well as the development of global skills, including civic literacy, global awareness, intercultural communication skills, critical and innovative thinking, The ability to communicate, collaborate and process information. Aims to promote lifelong learning and prepare preschool children for the challenges of the 21st century.

Zhang Li has focused on the research of Singapore’s preschool education curriculum in recent years, and completed the research report “Research on the Effectiveness of the Implementation of Kindergarten Chinese Curriculum – Taking an Institution in Singapore as an Example” in 2020. In 2018, she was invited to deliver a picture book teaching practice report at the Singapore Preschool Education Forum on the theme of “Children’s Literature and Preschool Chinese Education” held by Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). In 2021, she was invited to give a special lecture on the theme of “Guiding Strategies for Early Childhood Exploration Activities” at the 2021 Online Sharing and Discussion Conference for Senior Teachers of Early Childhood Education held by the Singapore Early Childhood Teachers Association (AECES).

Ms Koh Siew Yong (Michelle)

Ms Koh Siew Yong (Michelle) is a full-time lecturer in KLC International Institute. She holds a Master of Education (Early Childhood) from Nanyang Technological University and Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (Literacy) from SEED Institute.

Michelle has over 17 years of working experience in Early Childhood Education. She started as a Preschool teacher and had taken on different roles as Senior Teacher and Principal in Kindergarten and Childcare centres.

As a Principal, she managed Childcare, Infant care and Student care Centres. Other than developing curriculums, projects and initiatives with her team, she conducts coaching, mentoring and trainings for her teachers and Vice-Principal too. She also had many opportunities to work with the different stake holders such as parents, organizations, agencies and the community. She believes in empowering the Parents, Children and Staff to make decisions ownership and to take charge of their learning Journey.

Michelle believes in giving back to the society. She would like to use the experiences and knowledges she has gained over the years to guide and scaffold her learners. She believes in empowering her learners to be confident and independent learners who will take charge of their own professional learning Journey. She is passionate to build a Community of Practitioners where everyone can share and support one another in a safe and common Platform.

Ms Madhavi Tiwari alias Debbie

Ms Madhavi Tiwari alias Debbie is a Lecturer with KLC International Institute, English Programme, Division of Early Childhood. She holds a Master of Education degree from the National Institute of Education, NTU, Singapore.

She started her career in the early childhood industry as a teacher; was promoted as a senior teacher followed by a leadership and managerial role in the organisation. In her career as a Preschool Educator she had worked with varied age groups of preschool children ranging from 18 months to 6 year olds. During her career as a teacher she had the opportunity to learn, explore and practice various pedagogies and approaches like the Integrated Curriculum Approach; Multiple Intelligence Approach and Project Approach. As a teacher she gained experience working closely with the children, teachers, parents, families and the community workers.

As a Professional Management Unit Manager, she had the opportunity of planning and setting up new Childcare centres; Procurement of Childcare License & License Renewal; Guiding and Mentoring Preschool Principals and Administrators; Working closely with the Preschool centres to meet the quality standards (SPARK); Organizing Training & Sharing Sessions for Principals and Administrators.

Possesses multifaceted experiences, ranging from an educator to a management personnel, a mentor, trainer, curriculum writer and developer. She had been conducting varied Modular as well as Continuous Professional Development Courses. It has been an added value to her credential to be provided with an opportunity to conduct concurrent session/s during the ECDA Conference (2013 – 2019).

She believes in professional development and growth which not only motivates her to acquire new knowledge and skills but also sharing it meaningfully with others.

Ms Masliah bte Abdul Rahman​

Ms Masliah Bte Abdul is a Senior Lecturer with KLC International Institute (KLC II), English Programme, Division of Early Childhood. She attained her Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Studies, followed by a MEd from the Monash University. Besides the two degrees, Masliah has also obtained an Advance Certificate in Training and Assessment from Singapore Workforce Development Agency.

Masliah has been an active practitioner in the early childhood field for over 25 years, first as a teacher then rising to the role of a principal in childcare centres and kindergarten, field practicum supervisor and trainer. In her role as an early childhood educator, Masliah designed the curriculum and managed the daily operations of the school. She was involved in the mentoring of teachers in her centres as well as pre-service teachers in their profession. She is particularly interested in the training of creative arts (both music and visual arts), play and classroom management. She has received much positive comments from students on her creative lessons.

Masliah is very active in her role as a Senior lecturer. This role provides her the opportunity to keep in touch with current trends and happenings in the early childhood industry. She enjoys her lecture sessions and encourages her students to actively share, comment or challenge early childhood pedagogies / teachings during their lessons. Masliah is highly motivated to impart her skills, knowledge and experience to mould present and future early childhood teachers and leaders through course work and practicum sessions.

Ms Charlotte Wong​

Ms Charlotte Wong is a Senior Manager (Infant Care – Business Ops and Curriculum Training) in Crestar Education Group. She holds a Masters in Education (Early Childhood) from Monash University, Australia and Bachelor of Arts from National University of Singapore.

Charlotte has over 20 years of working experience in Early Childhood Education. She stared as a Childcare Manager and taken on different roles as Human Resource and Management in Kindergarten and Childcare centres.

As a Manager, she managed Childcare, Infant care and Student care Centres. Other than developing curriculums, projects and initiatives with her team, she conducts coaching, mentoring and trainings for her teachers and Vice-Principal too. She also had many opportunities to work with the different stake holders such as parents, organizations, agencies and the community.
